When I found out I was pregnant my album wasn’t complete.” - Cardi B.

Born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, the 26 year-old Bronx-born beauty is of Dominican and Trinidadian decent. Over the past 5 years, the rapper famously known as Cardi B has won the hearts of many with her care-free spirit, funny nature and work ethic. While some thought this was all fun and games for the sweet-natured artist, Belcalis has proven she’s in this for the long run.

While many became familiar with Cardi on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, the Grammy Award winner was already trending on social media sites, Vine and Instagram. Also, while many are now bopping their heads to tracks like,”Bodak Yellow" which catapulted Cardi’s career, “Money,” “I like It,” or “Drip,” off of her Grammy Award winning album, Invasion of Privacy, the streets were already recognizing the mother of one’s talent when she released not one yet two mixtapes, Gangsta Bitch Vol.1 and Vol. 2 back in 2016 and 2017.

2018 was definitely the year of Cardi B. She officially released her first album, Invasion of Privacy, inked major deals, became a household name and welcomed her first child, Kulture. While many thought the Bronx-bred beauty’s career would halt due to pregnancy, Cardi proved that becoming a mother empowered her even more so to continue chasing her dreams.

BTW, all 13 tracks on Cardi’s debut album Invasion of Privacy are either RIAA certified gold or higher. MAJOR!

The shining star’s 15 minutes of fame has runneth over and we couldn’t be any happier. 2019 has kicked off on a high note from the release of two Pepsi commercials, making history at last night’s Grammys receiving the award for Best Rap Album, she’s prepping to release yet another collection with FashionNova and well, this is just to name a few. We can’t forget, Cardi’s recent Harper’s Bazaar cover shoot and flawless inside spread.

Last night’s performance of “Money” definitely had me gagging. It showcased the Grammy-award winner’s growth as a performer. From costume designs (Cardi slipped into a Black Organza Peacock Crinoline with Black Velvet Panther over an embellished Mugler jumpsuit from the designers 95/96 Fall/Winter collection), choreography and Cardi’s overall confidence, I thoroughly enjoyed every second.

Kulture’s mama is also becoming every designers favorite muse with last night showcasing exactly that. Cardi first hit the red carpet of the 2019 Grammy’s in an archival look from Mugler’s autumn/winter 1995 couture show.

With all her looks styled by Kollin Carter, Cardi B. accepted her first Grammy looking absolutely stunning wearing a long white crepe fringe dress with fringe sleeves from the 1997 Spring/Summer Mugler Couture Show.

The outspoken rapper’s infectious personality has everyone continuing to root for her. From one of our very favorites female rappers Lil’ Kim who took to instagram congratulate her friend saying, “Yesssss baby u did it!!! But then I always knew this day would come. God Bless u mommy” to many other industry peers.
Kehlani - “congrats binderella!!!! this some real historical shit, thank YOU. Well deserved!, Fat Joe - “God bless”, Stefflondon - “Congratulations”, Taraji P. Henson - “Amazing!!!!!Congratulations.”

One of our absolute favorite moments from last night was the beautiful interaction between Cardi B and Lady Gaga. Over the years, the “I Like It” rapper has been vocal about her love for the powerhouse songstress. and last night, the two finally met, While we don’t know exactly was said between them, the footage captured showed nothing but joy, love and complete happiness.

The SV Boss Babes are so proud of Cardi and all she’s accomplished in such a short time but she frequently reminds fans and the haters that she has and is definitely putting in the work; sleepless nights, flying from city to city, days where she misses moments with her daughter but the end result? SUCCESS!

“But nothing in this world that I like more than checks (Money)….
…All I really wanna see is the (Money)”
