The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express Mass Baby Shower! [Photos]
A Moment Like This! May 24th, 2019 was a day that will forever be memorable.
Last December, during the third edition of my maternal health awareness initiative, The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express, the thought of a MASS Baby Shower ran through my mind. I had no idea how I would achieve the end result but I knew someway, somehow I had to make it happen. The goal was for 150 expectant and postpartum mothers to be celebrated like never before while also gaining knowledge on motherhood, CPR, self-love and more. One statement I said repeatedly throughout the past few months while planning this event was, “I want my mamas to feel exactly how I felt during both my baby showers.” I wanted them to feel loved, happy, at ease, and excited about this chapter of their lives called, “Motherhood” and the goal was definitely achieved.
Our expectant and postpartum mothers had the time of their lives during The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express Baby Shower held at Achimota Hospital in Accra, Ghana. While the expectant mothers indulged in delicious food by D'real Foods, quenched their thirst with juice from Luckie's Place, X Natural Mineral Water, and treats from Chris Bakery, they also were educated on pre/postnatal care, CPR, and motherhood as a whole by a phenomenal team of women. My incredible guest and keynote speakers Victoria Naashika Quaye, Fati Shaibu-Ali, Cecilia Johnson and Akosua Poku shared knowledge and gems from both a professional and personal level. Mz Orstin had attendees on their feet while Nana Yaa Asabea Owusu kept the event flowing as the MC.
Each attendee was gifted with a goodie bag filled with sanitary pads from Faytex, candles by Flickerwick, baby girl/Baby Boy products from Ghandour Cosmetics, diapers from Molfix, pantyliners from Kare Woman and a gift set from Keona Girly Girls Collection. Our mamas also went home with clothes, shoes and accessories which were donated to the event.
To my AMAZING event planner, Memories Made By Amie! I can not thank you enough for making what was a dream, a reality. For bringing my vision to life so beautifully. You went above and beyond to make sure the day was special for our mamas and as you saw first hand, they loved every moment.
