Tea Time Tuesday's: "Write 'Thank You' Letters To Those Who Have Hurt You." - Beenie TV
A couple of nights ago, I saw a post and immediately wanted to share it which I did on my snapchat but felt it needed to go viral so I decided to share it here also.
My cousin Abena sprinkles the world with sassiness every day, giving advice on how to remain positive on a daily basis but what she shared a couple of days back struck like lightning. "Write thank you letters to friends, lovers, colleagues that hurt you. You are not a victim. Release them from your soul." I need you all to go back and re-read what Abena shared in my previous sentence. We can all relate to holding a grudge towards people who have hurt us. Even years later, it's as though we can't let it go. Abena, your words hit home. We need to forgive and sometimes the only way to do so is by saying, 'Thank you'. Thank you for smiling in my face but stabbing me in the back. Thank you for not loving me as I loved you. Thank you for not supporting me in my endeavors. Thank you for making me a stronger human through the pain. Trust me when I say, it feels so good to rid yourself of any pain anyone has caused you.
Vice-versa. For those, you may have hurt, FORGIVE YOURSELF even if the person may not forgive you. Ultimately, you want to live the happiest life and it's never too late to forgive yourself, free yourself and begin to live the best life you've ever lived.
You are never the circumstance, you are the person who comes out of it.
